Based on our weekly reading for week11-12 we learned about swatches in InDesign. While creating swatches for this particular image, there are things that I learned and things I struggled with . Finding Inspiration for my image  Initially it was kind of hard for me to find an inspiring photograph that I wanted to use to create my swatches. I was in the library one day just looking around and I struggled trying to find a meaningful image to use. I found a shelf with movies. So I thought, “ wow, this is something that I can use to create swatches and color schemes for certain colors that I want to pull from my photograph.”  Colors  When I was looking at my image, I carefully thought about the colors that I wanted to do for my brochure assignment and carefully about what each color represented in the image. So I made 3 shades of yellow which represented the dvd covers, 3 shades of brown which represented the book shelf, and 3 shades that represented the top of every ...

bog 04 Heal Thyself

Based on our previous experiences with using tools that involve both healing and cloning , there were several things that stood out to me.   1) Removing unwanted spots and objects:  According to our weekly reading, you use the spot healing brush tool to remove any unwanted or objects. This is an original image of a meme that I designed, using Patrick pointing , and sponge-bob making a rainbow , and the space galaxy as the background. When I designed this meme, I wanted to see what would happen if I got rid of the spots on Patrick and spongebob. First, I went into the layers panel, and I selected the layer that contained the spots that I wanted to remove. In this case I wanted to remove the little red spots that Patrick had, along with the spots that Spongebob had. To do this, I had to make separate layers for both Spongebob and  Patrick just to make the process a little easier. This is the full picture what I did to sponge-bob and Patrick. However, here is an up close pic...

Based on our weekly readings about photoshop, there are several things that I learned throughout the process of creating this meme project. Resizing an image: Based on the week 6 reading,” to resize an image the height and width of the image needs to be measured and sometimes when resizing an image you may need to select the resample to change the number of pixels that are on  your image.”  Resizing Layers: Based on the weekly readings on photoshop and what we learned in our previous class on layers, in the layers panel in photoshop  the layers panel provides you with one or more layers that contain images or objects that you want to resize.  When I worked on my meme assignment, there was an edit feature I noticed while working in photoshop. When I right clicked, there was a button called “Free Transform.” According to photoshop, free transform works on layers individually. The purpose of free transforming is to scale images proportionally. Overall ,I learned ...

Blog post 2 adjusting profile picture

Blog post 2 adjusting profile picture  Adjustment layer: in this screenshot of my profile picture I slightly added some adjustment layers to it and it took me a while before it could get the hang of. However I am still struggling with adding some adjustment layers to my photo. I wanted to familiarize myself with photoshop so I went to the adjustment panel and then I pressed the line graph that shows all of the adjustments in numbers that are added  to your picture. However as I was  editing my photo I discovered that not only can you change the adjustment layers or the hue/saturation, there is a property called colorizer which I found that changes the tint of the picture. Based on what I learned, I learned that you can switch the mask to  white on the top and black on the bottom.

Blog post 01 composition

Introduction:      Greetings fellow readers. Here I present my first blog post in COM 113-03 Graphic software Packages. Here I will post several photos that are related to our first assignment, which revolves around composition and "working the shot".     Taking professional photographs, there are many individuals that tend to interpret the body of work differently, that can sometimes hinder them from looking beyond the subject itself .    Creating A Theme :     Coming up with a theme was a little challenging for many reasons. One reason was that I initially had an idea of a theme in my head, but I was not so confident. Initially  my theme was going to be about the buildings that are on HPU campus however, it seemed a bit complex for this assignment. After a long thinking process, I decided to have light( specifically  lamps) as my theme.  Found Subject:     Finding a subject to photograph can be very difficult becaus...
