bog 04 Heal Thyself

Based on our previous experiences with using tools that involve both healing and cloning , there were several things that stood out to me.

 1) Removing unwanted spots and objects:

According to our weekly reading, you use the spot healing brush tool to remove any unwanted or objects. This is an original image of a meme that I designed, using Patrick pointing , and sponge-bob making a rainbow , and the space galaxy as the background.

When I designed this meme, I wanted to see what would happen if I got rid of the spots on Patrick and spongebob. First, I went into the layers panel, and I selected the layer that contained the spots that I wanted to remove. In this case I wanted to remove the little red spots that Patrick had, along with the spots that Spongebob had. To do this, I had to make separate layers for both Spongebob and  Patrick just to make the process a little easier.

This is the full picture what I did to sponge-bob and Patrick. However, here is an up close picture of sponge-bob and Patrick, shown below.

Based on my first experiences with using the clone stamp tool, there are a few things that I learned, and took into consideration. When using the clone stamp tool, it allows you to paint one part of an image over the other part of that specific Image. What I liked the most about the clone stamp tool is that it is effective whenever you need to copy exact detail and color from one part of the image to another area. However, the clone stamp tool also allows you to keep retouching separate from the main image .

In this image, you will notice that there is another Patrick star on the opposite side. However,  there are two up close images of what I did to make the clone of Patrick. The image that is shown, displays the layers panel. I went into the layers panel and selected the layer that contained the content that I wanted to copy and use elsewhere in the image. I then named the layer the “Patrick Clone “ layer. After I established the layer that I wanted, I went into the tool panel and selected the clone stamp tool, shown below. Once I selected the clone stamp tool, I then went up to the option’s bar, I selected the size and hardness of clone stamp tool, in order to fit the object that I was cloning.

Overall I learned that there are many things that you can do when healing and cloning an image that you want in photoshop. Although it is not exactly perfect, the important thing is that I had fun experimenting with these tools.
